I have a couple of studs which have backed off a very small amount,no damage but worries me. Aluminum heads with 1.6 HS roller rockers and RAS shafts with the n/ hold down kit. What can these be torqued to and is thread sealer ok to use?.The nuts didnt back off ,the bolt did and the threads are fine.

Speedy383, I've kinda got the same type question too. I bought new Indy EZ'z and they told me to just finger tighten their studs in the heads, no sealer at all. I've seen other studs that said to use sealer or lock-tight. I don't think they should be torqued however. Jeff

FWIW Mine came w/allen heads machined into em so I lightly snugged em down and no problems after several thousand miles and a couple hundred passes.............

How much spring pressure?
It may be the Heli-Coils in the head compressing?

On my HS system I had a couple bolts work loose so I went to studs. Two studs worked loose the first time I had it out so I resorted to Loctite red and there has been no problem since, about 3 yrs.

Thanks, i have been told to not use locktite on aluminum? The threads or helicoils are fine. I think i will use some thread sealant and snug them in and keep an eye on them. Its got a Comp roller,255/260 .445.445/ 108 with 1.6 rockers, dont have spring specs with me at this time.
