I have seen big voltage ie: welding and cutting ,etc take out the ecm on dodge trucks, ecm grounded to body grounded to engine etc It can send voltage through the ecm through the ground side. i would check it out, not that hard to get wires pinched between bell house and block either
Your friend has been very lucky.

Another thought: As this is a hydraulically activated clutch, would there be any adjustment that would prevent starting? I notice one time trying to start it when it was in 1st gear, it tried to pull forward a little due to the new thicker clutch disc (my assumption). I just re installed the slave cylinder just like it came out but now with the fatter disc, could this be keeping it from starting? A sensor detecting clutch travel/clearance or lack there of? Any input would be greatly appreciated Scott
Bleed it again, new slave PITA to bleed sometimes, clutch drag would indicate still air in the system. Netrual safety switch issues result in no cranking usually

Scott, can you can borrow a scan tool and plug into the truck.See if it will communicate with the ecm,if it does see if you get an rpm signal while cranking, this will tell you if the crank sensor is sending a signal. If the scanner doesn't communicate with the ecm you'll need to start looking into possibly wiring, power feed problems or maybe a smoked ecm.One quick check, does the check engine lite come on when you turn the key on? Found the problem. The crank sensor lead got pinched between bell housing and block. Thanks again for help! Scott
