Just thought you guys might be interested in hearing about our latest dyno pull. We built up a 418 cubic inch small block based on a R3 block. It had Indy 360-1 heads that we CNC ported and massaged along with an INDY intake. We used our flat tappet solid cam, HTL6872AS and 114 octane fuel. 701HP and 585 ft/lb torque. We think there is even more power in it but we ran out of time on the dyno.

We are writing a tech article that will include all of the dyno tests and the changes we had to make throughout the build to reach this HP. Tech articles don't happen fast..... Dave has to write them and he is swamped with shop work and phone calls. he is working on it though and we will post it ASAP.

That sounds awesome. But why a flat tappet in a good effort engine? Must be a reason..

Hughes is a big into promoting their camshaft line. Im sure that has a LOT to do with it. I personally like what they have done for most of their camshafts.

I'm interested to see more on the build too. I was suprised to see you used the HTL6872AS cam and not the bigger HTL7276AS? Either way it made a ton of power.

Do you guys have a CNC program for the heads or was that done by Indy?
