have read a lot of positive comments about John Copes converters so while looking at the Cope racing site I noticed an Icon for PTC. That led me to a spec sheet that you fill out for a quote on a converter. So why is the PTC spec sheet on the Cope site? Does PTC build converters for Cope? Also, anyone have experience with SMR converters? The marketing info reads very good but I would like to read some actual user responses before I make a purchase.

I got a call from Tim at PTC. Seems like a nice guy and sounded pretty knowledgeable about converters. How about SMR converters? Anyone have any experience with their converters?

PTC has awesome customer service and sold us a good product that we've been using for many years.

John at CRT is the best hands down. I bought a 9 1/2" PTC for my 727 and he will listen to you and give you what you need. No issues at all, very helpful, excellent service!!

I've ran SMR converters for 25 years street/strip with good results. He has a good 3000 and 4000.
I currently run a 5000 ctc I bought used and freshened locally sine june last year if I get my 572 plus I'll put my 4000 smr back in.
PTC Dynamic are good too!
I always wanted to try a Dynamic some freinds have them with good results as with the PTC's too

SMR has done my last three converters.Very pleased with Pat.His converters stall right where I ask him to set them.

I sold one of them like a dummy.

John Cope is very knowledgeable and will help you. Just talked to him a couple of days ago about my current 9.5" PTC converter. The 9.5" worked great behind my old 446" RB. Right around 4% slippage. Now I have a 512" RB and the converter can't handle the extra horsepower. John said I need a 8" converter and I called Kenny at PTC with my complete engine and drivetrain specs. He speced out an 8" for it. Remember when you spec a converter, you must tell the builder every complete detail on your combo.
