Hey guys!

I'm having a heck of a time with my passenger side rear popout window on my '69 Super Bee coupe.

The passenger side stainless window trim is about 1 inch longer than it is on the drivers side. Is this how it is supposed to be? I cant imagine that it is supposed to be like this because the trim doesnt even come close to fitting. Other than the length, it is identical to the drivers side including all screw holes and the little bend at the end.

Is there another car (Road Runner maybe?) that used this slightly longer piece of trim?

Another thing that I've been struggling with (for longer than I would like to admit!) is getting the pop out quarter window & gasket to seal tight enough againt the quarter panel. There is a decent sized gap (1/8-1/4) that I cant seem to get rid of even with all the screws tightened.

Thanks!
Paul

The retainers and windows are different dodge to Plymouth.

I just had the fight you are working on now with the gap between the gasket and quarter panel. No wonder they rusted out below there.

anyway,

I tried, adding a thin foam gasket to the quarter panel, that looked worse then the gap.

After a few more tries, I used 3M strip caulk between the outer edge of the galvanized frame and the inside of the window gasket, before I installed it for the ninth time, forcing the gasket against the quarter panel, now I have a nice fit..
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Greg.

I had the same gap issues on a customers car I was restoring, at first I thought something was missing as this car was in pcs when I got to it,....after lots of looking at other cars/pics, this seemed a common problem area,...the customer suggested and installed a foam strip which looked like crap, my solution was to use a hardtop catwisker, and let the rubber edge blend with the rubber window gasket

Thanks for the tips guys! I had considered trying some extra foam on there, so I am glad that I don't have to bother wasting time with that.

I cut the stainless trim too, and it fits much better now (obviously).

Thanks again!
Paul
