let you know soon. I had an issue with the Moroso valve covers and the H/S rockers. It's not quite full weight. I has a glass hood. front valance and no heat/ac box. I think it should run 11.50's once I get it tuned in.

do the harland sharp rockers fit with stock 1970 covers just bought a set of 1.5s for my 1970 440 sixpack motor?

The Harland Sharps with work with easy mods. One would be to remove the baffel completly the other is to just drill 3/8th holes where the studs are. If you remove the baffel completly you should make a sheild at least where the breather is. Other then that it's a home run.

Jaun looks great good luck!

Ed

It's not so much the height as the width. The Moroso's are taler than factory however they are not wide enough. The rocker corners rub near the bottom of the cover. You'd need to either grind the rockers down or bang the sides of the cover...

Juan, Good luck with the new engine.. Make sure you upgrade
the fuel lines and the exhaust 2 1/2 with some dynomax ultra
flow mufflers.. Max performance for the street and track..
My Bob K build is going into its fifth season over three hundred
runs couple thousand street miles.. Had it out two weeks ago
11.90 @ 115.60 and the air was not all that good..
A little birdie told me your making about 70hp more than me so i
would think its good for mid 11's.. If you need anything pm me..

Scott.

Hey Scotty!!!!!!!!! Darn good to hear from you man. I wish I was out there racing with you guys. Thank you for the good wishes and tips. That's a big 10-4 on the fuel line and mufflers. Yeah, I heard you were giving a certain blue Hemi a run for their money!!! I'm glad to hear your motor has been doing so well. I remember seeing it run, it's a beast! If all goes well I hope to have it on the road this summer...maybe late summer but we'll see what shakes out. As for times, well...I'll do the absolute very best that I can and hope to make Bob and all the Mopar racer amigos proud!!! I still plan to run the bias plies on the strip. You take care man! And if there is anything I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask or pm as well.

And thank you again for taking the time to chat with me 2 years ago at Carlisle when I asked about your car and motor set up...you know that the week after that conversation and seeing your car run down the strip is when I called Bob and said I was ready!!! Bob said... "sure, no problem Juan," but of course I had to wait my turn.

JA

Hello,

I'm happy to report I reached another milestone last month, I started the car up for the second time and it went well. The oil pressure and engine temp was good, and no leaks anywhere. Also, I drove the Bee up and down the street but I did have a couple of issues that I need to work on, the biggest issue being my charging system is not working right, so I'll work on that next.

But she sounds oh so nice! It feels so good to get my car off the jack stands and out in the drive way for a bit. Parked in the garage, it looks like it sits low like a low rider I'm so used to seeing it up on stands.

I have a video but I was unable to post it...the error message said it was to large.

A special thanks to Bob K. for helping me set up the tranny and helping pick the right torque converter, along with the engine installation and strat up process!

Thanks, Juan.

Howdy,

I've been driving the car around my neighborhood to try and work out the bugs, so far its coming along good. On the road the car feels like a rocket…I mean it feels really strong and it has great street manners. The best part is when I'm sitting in the car while I’m coasting down the road. I can hear a deep rumble from inside the car…it reminds me of the sound from the CH-47 Chinook helicopters I use to ride in from my Army days…sounds like a turbine engine…must be all that compression, I love it!

Thanks, Juan. Below is a video from the start up and please excuse the loose wires and scruffy carpet...I've been trying to route the wires to my guages.

Nice looking car.

Motor sounds good.

What is the switch on the shift lever, a linelock? or something else?

What is your oil pressure @ idle after the motor is warm? It looked like 70 psi @ 1500 rpm in the video.

How long have you owned the car?

Best of luck!! Steve
