The picture is probably too big to be attached. Try resizing it.

Sometimes if the pic is very high resolution it still won't work. You can reduce the kb size or just upload to Photobucket and copy the link here.

Grind the rest of broken weld off the hoop and reweld it.

If it wasn't welded together then how was the outer part attached to the spokes? I bet it was spot welded at least.

I'd just make sure whomever welds it back together keeps the outer portion lined up in the right spot so it doesn't end up being egg shaped. Heat from welding can cause metal to move around so clamping it down would be a good idea.

Unless it was welded when produced,it has never been broken before,I assume it was produced from a mold, but I am not sure..

People are assuming that is the steering wheel like you posted but it actually appears to be the horn ring... It's cast as a single piece, it's pot metal... It will blow apart if someone tries to weld it, find a guy that knows trim repair some are pretty good, most that have the skill are either retired or should be.... Muggy Weld may work... your best option may be to just start looking for another one....

Doh!

I thought maybe it was a wood or plastic wheel steering wheel with the outside removed for restoration/repair. Never entered my mind that I was looking at the horn button instead of a steering wheel.

I went to muggyweld.com which sells repair kits for pot metal but I have to buy multiple rods and spend over 60.00 and all I need is just a little bit.Would restoration places, there a few in my area sell something like this..
