Not as good as I had hoped for, of course I got to make 4 runs total, the best ET was 10:571 and the best MPH was 127.05 I started the race on a set of used M/T ET Street tires(not radials) and they spun on both runs on Friday It ran 10.658 @127.04 MPH and 10.647 @127.05 mph. I made one run in each lane that dayI put on a new set of 12.5x29x15 Goodyear slicks Friday night and it ran 10.587 ET @ 126.80 on the only run I got to make on Saturday, I made one more run on Sunday morning for the dial for dollars race which was 10.571, I had dialed 10.55 They called the first round right after that run and my car would not start or run for the first round I'm not sure what is causing that I'm trying to get ready for a road trip back east next week so I may not get to fix it before then

What does the car weigh with driver?

Getting old just means you were smarter than some and luckier than others.

Nah, one of the 700+ HP motors My old 518 low deck pump gas(10.8 to 1 comp. ratio) short block with a set of Indy SR heads with M.W. intake ports, 400-1 intake and a Holley 4781-7 carb. It is sold, hopefully so I may not get to do any tuning on it in my car, I did record one run on my LM1 but I haven't down loaded it yet so I'm not sure how it was on the jetting. The weather was not good, DA around 2700 ft., not good and not horrible

I wasn't sure if they had enough rubber left to make it through the entire weekend so I put the used set of bias plys on, they had a lot more thread left on them I should have put the slicks on to start with

i hope you get time to fix it before the new owner gets it. maybe a plug wire fell off or something simple like that. that would explain the low mph.

I had a customer with a 750HP BB in a 3650lb. car go 133mph at MATS a couple of years ago...D.A. was 4200ft. at the time.

there's a considerable horsepower difference between 127 mph @ 2700 ft and 133 mph @ 4200 feet, don't you think.

4200 ft. is not good air, 2700 ft. really isn't all that bad though. so to answer your question of "what do you mean by that" it doesn't take 711 HP to run 127 mph in "average" D/A. it's more like 620 hp. for a car "like" the op's. now, maybe if the car weighed 3750+ and had a 5-6 mph headwind it would make more sense.
i'm not a "politically correct" kind of guy. i call em' like i see em'. if someone's going to get offended because what i have to say isn't what they want to hear, so be it. thicker skin might be needed in some cases.

I didn't see your yellow car there at that race, was it? I have learned over the years that you canot compare one cars performance to another, even racing at the same track with different weather conditions on a different day or the same car at the same track with different weather conditions because of the impact weather has on our race cars My car ran what it did, that motor had a different set of heads, fresh M.W. Indy SR on 1 400-1 intake with a Holley 4781-7 carb with stock jetting than it had when I dyno tested it the last time I am not sure how much power it will make on a dyno if I retested it, which I am not planning on.It is a pump gas motor and all three runs where made with the mufflers and air cleaner on The wind was blowing both days, it was humid and low B.P. 26.90 on Friday I have that motor sold to a local bracket racer so I am not setting it up for kill, there is no need for it. It will be way faster than his previuos motor and it will be in a lighter car, it should run at the bottom of the pro bracket (.650 in the 1/8th)at the local track, which is what he wants Any other comments BTW, I used the Wallace ET to HP formulas and it showed 564 rear wheel HP and 596 flywheel HP from the weigt and MPH, it does not allow for weather conditions, elevation or any of the other things that need to be used to get a accurate comparision of perforamnce for different tracks, elevation, weather, traction and so on So what good is it

so in other words, the wallace calculator and i seem to agree it's not one of those 700 hp combo's like you said early on in the thread.

It is what it is is what I said Is the Wallaace claculator your only reference for HP, Torque, ET and so on It is not mine, I post what the dyno sheets say No fudgeing, no fooling with the numbers or any other ego stroking measures Just the facts, Dan BTW take my numbers and run it on one of the other calculators like the Moroso slide stick, Isky or one of the other ones out there. Does that make the results less valid NO It is what I say it is
