Hey, went to swap the tires on the satellite last night, and after removing the 5 lugs the rear wheel came off with a little motivation, but the front, after all 5 lugs removed it seems just as solidly attached as when the lugs were on. (Front drums)

Used a bunch of penetrating oil and hand force with little results. Am I missing something that still needs removed or should I bring out the hammers?

I wouldnt use a hammer, but would just give the tire a few good kicks on alternating sides. Should loosen and pop right off. I've seen that happen on a few cars where the wheels went a long time without being removed and you get a rim that starts to bond to the metal behind it with a thin layer of rust.

more than likely the shoes are hung inside the drum on the lip that forms over time. back off the adjusters.

I thought just the wheels are stuck to hubs.

Me too. I read wheels not drums which is why I said to just break it loose with a couple of kicks. To the OP, which is it?

yeah, I also see I have the subject wrong, it should say 'stuck' not stock. I squirted some more penetrating oil on it this morning; tonight I'll kick it a bit harder. I was just worried that maybe I was missing something still, and kicking it would break it.

Kicking can't be any worse than the curb hopping/ trail bashing some of us like to do!

Loosen nuts a couple of turns so that there would be some play if the wheel were loose, put in gear and lightly rock back and forth while turning the steering wheel making the wheel work itself loose.
Have also seen tire stores rap inside of rim side to side with a BFH to loose stuck wheels from hub and drum.

Thanks, I'll try that tonight; I went home at lunch to give it another go and couldn't break them loose, used a rubber mallet and beat the crap out of it from both sides with no success.

I was also thinking of loosening the bolts a bit and jacking up the other side of the car to see if the weight of the car would jar it loose.

UPDATE: thanks for all the help, wheel finally came off with a few carefully aimed whacks with a sledgehammer against a piece of 2X4 all the way around the inside rim.

The only wheel stuck that bad was the passenger side front, all the others came off with little problem.
