1&3/4 but I'd suggest 2&1/2 or possibly 3" mandrel bends from the collector flange rearward. You would need an X pipe/proper muffs/resonators in the tailpipes alongside the leafs to keep the noise manageable esp w 3"

same, I think you might give up 5 maybe 10hp. My new motor is probably a tad stronger than Ron's old one and I'm still using the 1 3/4. The 1 7/8 were going to be a PITA. My mechanic friend told me to keep the small tubes, said he puts cars on the dyno all the time and usually only see a small gain. Now if you go big like 500ci or with a BIG roller cam and fully ported heads and plan on spinning it to 7k than yeah big tubes will help.
