Would there be numbers cast or stamped in one? theres a local 3.91 sure grip and owner said no numbers on it, this would work fine in a later axle correct? the only odd 64's were the open types that had slightly longer axles correct? Said it came out of a 100 Van. Thanks for any info

64 should have Nos on the case.My kids 62 we used the center SG and had 4.10s put in it and now its in a 65 housing.Rocky

just the letters NOS stamped or cast in? is there a small pad on the early ones with the ratio and S for suregrip stamped in it?

'64 is the year they changed the width of the thrust block in the open differential so the axle lengths would be the same for both open and SG.
