i remember from working on bunny burketts car, the mounts for the straps go over the exhaust studs. its been a while since ive seen it but i think thats how it was.
That's correct...OP you really need to go to the races and take your camera. I can't imagine putting this togeather from stuff you learned from the internet. I predict this is gonna be a very expensive learning experience for you from the questions I've seen you ask. Good luck, your gonna need it.

Not the header flange, just use existing or replace with longer header studs, the paddles normally aren't drilled for a particular pattern, there's half a dozen different patterns for Hemi heads alone.

Indy is not far away from you, go to Div 3 race coming up, there's plenty of blowers there. Go the day ahead of time, Thurs. That way guys have time to talk to you, don't go asking questions during racing, between quailifing or eliminations. When I learned about this stuff, I went to the races many times and took pictures. I also helped a couple teams for free to learn, boy did I learn. Before I even bought my first hemi. When I bought my first Hemi from Chuck Baird, Assumtion Ill. I spent 1 1/2 days there. The motor and tranny was all apart and he spent a day and half instructing me on how to put it togeather and make it last. Invaluable learning lesson, guess what? I quailified at my first race.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me, you need the exhaust stud strength to restaint the blower if it lifted. Never modifiy safety equipment, never.

well the threads on the bolt holding the paddle is 7/16 and i feel that the header flange having 6 bolt to disepate the energy was better than 1 stud crouded against the header tube.just my thinking on that. edit:i believe the directions say to weld them to the headers.
mine bolt on
Not sure if you could weld aluminum to stainless but I will let the pros answer that.

Mine are titanium. None of them weld on.
Tomorrow I mock up a head and headers with them mounted so the OP can see better. I'm pretty sure all off them mount the same way.
