any one know of anything that will preserve polished mag. to the white rust away? what about flooding it with wd40? or soaking in something? i got my mag. injection hat and has a high luster shine to it and was told there was something old gassers soked the mag parts in to keep from white rusting

Gibbs is supposedly the hot tip. I suppose WD40 might do in a pinch.
Mg does NOT like moisture. It does polish up pretty easily, but it's a relatively high-maintenance material.
