Dan at performance only or Ryan J at shadydell speed shop. No one else. I would use RHS heads for most street budjet builds and would even consider them if it was a realy hot street build, they are really nice unless you just have to have aluminum. SCAT stuff for the bottom end and any forged piston.

I'm in the process of building one and sourced all my stuff separately and am having it balanced locally.
I got the major parts from CNC Motorsports, most notably the Scat crank and connecting rods. Went with an Ebay source for the SRP pistons.
Primary reason for this was that I wanted to use Scat parts, but don't much care for the Icon pistons they provide in their kits. Also, I've heard some reports of poor balancing on the Scat kits.
Pricewise, I did just as well as I would have done had I purchased a complete kit.
Most online suppliers wanted $150 to balance. I'm paying $200 to have it done locally, but it's a shop I've used before and trust. Definitely worth the peace of mind.
I'll have just under $1500 in my cast crank, forged piston rotating assembly, including Mahle file fit rings, Clevite bearings, and balancing. That includes all shipping too.

I can fix it... my old man is a television repairman. He's got the ultimate set of tools... I can fix it.

Consider using hyperuetectic pistons for street use, they fit tighter in the bore, rings wear better - last longer.

I'd consider Ryan and shadydell, brian at IMM or Dan (DRAM) at performance only, but would probably end up at either Muscle Motors or Best Machine because they are more local to me. is you're in SC, isn't Hensley Motorsports down there?
