Talk.... not really.I am in a state of shock!! motor leaked ,cracked crank, wrong crank or pistons depending the way you look at it.Then he says since you tore it apart I will only split the cost with you Any idea on making the rod longer????????????????????
On the rod you have 2 choices... buy a longer set OR cut your rods in half and weld in a chunk... and I dont think the second one would be my choice... sell your currant rods and buy longer ones... what size are yours now and what do you figure you need On the crank did you have a 4.25 in it and he ordered a 4.15... why would he order a 4.15 if he knew you had a 4.25.... this is the part I dont understamd

I want to know how in this day and age someone could stay in business telling you that. the %$%$# pss me off.. I feel for you.. I bust my hump as a residential contractor and go we beyond to make my customers happy.. a machinist like this should wither and die as far as i am concerned.. if people stuck it to machinist who pull this crap..they would not do this.. take them to court and prove a point... but AHH we are too busy and really it to expensive and too much effort... I know... but That relieves them of the consiquences, which recipricates the problem.. im in a raw mood..and will now step off the soap box... chepast

I think I would be backing my truck up to his door and loading up my stuff and giving him a friendly wave on my way out of the parking lot, then drive it right on over to 84 pa. to a reputable shop (that we all know and love) and get it fixed right,,just my opinion, but I think I would be livid

Looks like your builder is questionable no doubt.
But, you have to take some blame on the crank. You state in your post you ordered the crank.
You already thought your builder might be a bonehead and YOU did not check the stroke on the old crank yourself before ordering a new one.
MAN, sorry you are having so much trouble with this thing. Sure wish you were working with a small block some of us could probably help you get what you need to fix everything.

I agree. See if they will exchange the crank for the correct stroke one, even if you have to cover the shipping it would be worth the effort. Then get your stuff over to a Mopar knowledgable shop and have EVERYTHING checked carefully! When things are going wrong like this, sometimes it's best to start with a fresh set of eyes on things.

Well I never thought to question the stroke untill I checked the piston he put in . So I do not take any blame !!!!!!!! I did not buy or aasemble the engine I gave it to what I thought was a pro!! Now moving on .. the new crank is a eagle 4.150 with stock rod and mains for a 440.
What gave you the idea that is was a 4.15 vs. a 4.25?
But again , what rods do you currently have and have you tried to contact whomever you bought the crank from for a SWAP ????

It helps but does not have to be a Mopar guy. But what it has to be is someone that works only on Race engines. If you go to a shop and they work on everything from imports to tractors....well you know what kind of workmanship you will get from them. I tried this last summer to keep from having to wait in line 3-4 weeks. Lets just say it was a "Mistake". If they work on race engines and are good at it,that is all you will see in their shop.Because if they are good on Race engines they will have plenty of work. If there are no Big Mopar people to do your work, check around and find out who does all the work for the Pro-Mod racers. They take things to the next level, but it is well worth it in the end.

Sorry for your problems, but how far down in the hole is the piston?
