What is the correct sheen on the black paint surrounding the wood grain on the top of the 4 speed console - 69 GTX. Have flat black now but I think somebody was doing some work on it before I got it.

I'm painting it semi gloss black given no feedback..

I would say semi gloss would be correct . Flat would look too dull, and gloss will catch every imperfection and also be incorrect. I would lean on the flatter side of semi gloss if that makes sense. Hope that helps,
