the 69 have the forward/back lever on the side
and the lean forward lever on the back side at the botton whats the diff on 68 ?? and did all 69 have headrest and where headrest avaliable on 68 ?? and will all core be the same only differnt covers for each model ??
thx moparts
sorry to hijack

As far as I know 68/9 frames are the same. Headrests were a option on all 68 - mid 69 as in Jan. 1969 it was federal law to have head restraints

Wow. Good info guys. I thought this thread was dead. Always something to learn. Those 68 tracks in the pic in this thread are odd. Not anything like my buddy's seats. John RR, you're right, buckets are hard to find.

I haven't decided for sure which way to go - buckets or bench. If my car would have had a fender tag like I was told it did from the moparts member that I bought the car from, this would not be an issue. I would stick with the original bench seat. But since there's no tag or BS I'm kicking around ideas. The car is an F6, 4spd, side scoop, ramcharger car which makes it pretty cool. Not an A12, but about as cool as it can get without having a lift off hood. Which, by the way, a lift off hood could be an option for me too. Since the closest I'll probably ever get to owning a real A12 car is the 12 inch toy version sitting on my desk.

But I've got time to think about it since everything is on hold until my shop gets completed. What a nightmare. Waiting on concrete guys has been the worst experience. Finally got that out of the way after over a year. Now I'm about done with the rest of the shop so I can get back to work on the cars!

thats not a bad combo you have there but I think this is a pretty cool combo , I wish it had side scoops originally ...

You don't need a FT or B/S to tell if the car was originally built with buckets or bench, there are reinforcement plates welded into the floor of bucket seat cars where they attach to the floor also.

He knows what the car had originally if you read the original post

Thanks. You're right. I know about the reinforcement plates. That's why I'm considering a bucket seat swap. Since my car has no reinforcement plates, I know it was a bench car.
