Does the upper side of the trans crossmember in a 67-76 A body need to be modified to fit a 727 behind a 440? Is so, any pics?
Thanks!

No mods needed 1967 was the first year Ma Mopar installed the 383 in the A bodys stock from the factory As long as you have V8 trans crossmember and tranny mount your golden on the back part What are you going to use for mounts on the front? I like and use Elephant ears or a front motor plate mounted to top of the front frame rails

IS there a difference in slant sick and V8 trans x members?
I thought that they were all the same.
They seem to be from '73-76 anyway.

the crossmember is fine, it's just the tunnel that needs clearencing with a shield.

I just had to flatten out the lip on the underside of the trans tunnel to get the trans in, no other mods were needed.

And for what it is worth,
I put a mid '70s trans cross member in my '69 Dart so I could use the newer style trans mount (spool type).
