Someone mentioned that the 57/8 Plymouths made great customs and they are right I’ve seen a few that were very nicely done. I personally think they make very nice hot rods. Thought I’d put up a link to the build video of my 57 Plaza in case anyone is interested. Yeah, it’s red and white (I like Red and White) but it ain’t no Christine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltjeyXTzkzw

As far as the valve covers I'm not real sure, it was one of those E Bay deals several years ago.
The intake is cast iron and originally built by Chrysler. It started life as an industrial 2BBL intake. As far as I can tell it was modified back in the late 50’s-early 60’s, probably with one of the old “U Fab it” kits. Whoever did it did a take wonderful job. The holes into the outer runners look like they were milled instead of hacked and the brazing is very nice.
It was originally set up to take three 3 bolt Stromberg/Ford carburators. I modified it to accept a large base Rochester center and 2 small base Rochester outboard carbs.
The setup works great and was worth putting a hole in the hood and adding the hoodscoop to make it fit.

Another picture. The way it was modified maintains the integrity of the dual plane design (and works great for bottom end torque).

Actually it's a T Bird scoop (same style, but a bunch larger than the Falcon ones). I really didn't want to cut the hood but there was no way around it if I was going to run the Tri-Power.
I've got the Freeze plugs in 2 engines and have had no problems with them.
