W it dot to dot,(crank gear-12o'clock and cam gear-6o'clock) #6 cyl is ready to fire. Turn the crank slightly CCW till the marks are at 10 BTDC (15 if radical cam) as you need adequate cyl cranking psi then turn the dist till the nearest reluctor blade is dead even w the magnet AND the rotor is under (or close to) #6 plug wire terminal & yes you can reclock the inter gear to put the order anywhere you want but the OE order (SB I'm assuming, #1 forward and slightly to the pass side which'd place #6 to the rear & slightly to the dr side) is good standardization practice.
