Hey Guy`s, I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty and the "speed-O" stopped working, once in a while it will start working for a minute or two and then it will stop again? The check engine light comes on and the code reads P0500. I bought 2 vehicle speed sensors and replaced them both.. I still have the same problem.

Any idea`s?

Not a chrysler tech but I'd pull the gear cover & inspect the tone ring....

I'm not up on the jeep thing much. But ck to see if it has a speed sensor mounted on top of the rear diff. if so, and I think thats where it gets the vehicle speed signal from. chances are thats your problem, and pulling the rear diff cover is not bad idea to get all the junk out of it that usually contaminates the sensers
