I'm putting a factory rear sway bar on my 70 Challenger. The car did not have the dimples on the frame rail where the sway bar frame brackets bolt. So what is the best way to install the bar to ensure I'm putting the frame bracket mounting holes in the correct location?

Thanks, Joe

Joe here is a shot of my Sway bar. Holes were drilled at the factory on mine. I agree just bolt the end links in place and it all should just fall into alignment.

The frame brackets are tapered to match the frame. They will align themselves.

The early cars may not have dimples.

I will be doing this myself on my Challenger. I have a 'Cuda here with factory rear bar for measuring, but couldn't find any good reference points to measure from.

For the bar to align itself, does it make a difference if the cars weight is on the leaf springs? (do this with the car jacked up, or on the ground?)
