Rear is an 8 3/4 in a Dart. Looks like there is an inner and outer seal. I replaced the outer seal last year but not the inner. Would it be correct to assume that since fluid is getting out to the drum that the inner is most likely at fault? Looks like manual says press is needed to replace inner?

thanks

Or you have too much fluid in the pumpkin.

Bad inner seal allows oil to get to the brake, replacing outer seal requires a press, the lock collar and brg must be removed from the axel this frees the seal retainer.

Tony , if the part of the axle the bearing rides on is pitted it will leak . You can put a redi-sleeve on it , I did it on an axle for someone a few years ago , no leaks I had the drums off the car last fall.

That's what I am going to check next. Sounds like I may have created my own troubles.
