Has anyone ever heard of stress cracks in relation to the quarter panels on a 68-70 b-body convertible. If so, educate me on this subject.

Well, I have restored a couple B-body convertibles and parted out a few. The stress cracks that I saw on the cars that I had were;
1. on the front/top edge of the quarter panel by the quarter window
2. the leaded seam between the dutchman panel to the where it attaches to the quarter panel.

Mine had both of those...

If you've got a B-body convertible, you've probably got these cracks. Very common.

My little '68 a-body has them too. US Cartool subframe connectors help lots.

They're not unusual to find on the hardtops, at the junction of the quarter panel and the lock pillar (door jamb) at the top.
I've also seen several bubbles/blisters at the top of the cowl on '68-'69 Bs near the A-pillar, that are apparently a reaction of lead filler under the paint.
There was also a problem with the rear shock crossmembers tearing away from the trunk floors on some cars, had a '68 like that.

I've only ever seen or heard of that on cars that had air shocks , the shock crossmember was not designed to support the weight of the rear of the car 24/7.
