if the vin number stamped on the block is 0E123456, that would be for a 1970 E-Body, correct? Is it possible that there was a Cuda and a Challenger produced with the same VIN numbers stamped in the block (assuming their sequence numbers were the same)?

Doesn't the 0E (zero, e) mean it came out of a 1970 E=body? THANKS!!

1970 is correct, but E is for the Los Angeles plant. That letter is for the plant.

Careful, your character's showing!

so the letter is the plant, not the body style of the car. So if the vin on the block is 0E12345, that would have been any 1970 car built at the L.A. plant? I know they built Cuda's there, what else?

1970 LA cars;

A, B & E bodies.

If you have the whole VIN on the engine I can check my files and see if I know what it came from.

what size engine ? no big blocks in A bodies in 70 so it would rule them out if its a big block , no 340's in 70 b bodies so it would rule them out if it's a 340 ...

so if it's a 440 block it would either be a B or E body.

Or a "C" body, but not sure they built them in LA.

The sequence number is 1 2 3 4 5 6 ??? I guess a car somewhere had to have that number.
