Hi Guys,
I have the chance of buying a 9 3/4 out of a f150 with 373 gears & a locker. Would this axle be a Dana 60? other than spring perch location & width does anyone forsee any other problems I will have putting it in a early B body.
thanks Billy

F150 wouldn't have a 9.75... F250 & 350 from the 70's might... If it's a 83 or newer F150 it has a 8.8 which 3.73 & locker was common in...

Many F150s from the late 90s and newer have Dana 60s in them. I worked at a Ford store for a while and thought about doing the same swap in the hot rod.

Just because it has a 9 3/4 diameter ring gear does not make it a Dana 60. It is not. Did you read that article above? They are simply saying that they think it is equal to a 60 not identicle. It has a crush sleave and c-clip axles. The bearings are different. Everything is different. DO not expect any Dana 60 parts to fit.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
