The car I'm putting together sat in a field for 15 years. It must have a sprinklers or some kind of water hitting it for all of those years. The windows are one giant water spot and when scraped with a razor comes off like snow. With the windows out of the car I sprayed them with easy off oven cleaner hosed that off then polished them with glass cook top stove cleaner (I used Weiman but I'm sure they are all the same) They shine like mirrors. It made it a little hard to re-install the windows because it was hard to see through them from the glare from the lights above.

I wonder if that would work with glassware
that has been 'etched' by water marks/strong detergent
and has turned cloudy?

I had been thinking of trying to polish up glassware
in an ammunition brass cartridge vibrating tumbler,
after trying to find the 'right' media abrasive,
but maybe I should try the
oven cleaner/cook top cleaner
first.

Well, that's a great tip IF you are willing to take out all the windows in your rig.

That oven cleaner would make short work of the paint.
