I dont know why they would limit themselves to the 3.92 ratio. My 2007 has a 3.55 with the Anti Spin diff. Its a 2wd too.
How do you know if your truck has the anti spin diff ? I have a 2007 4X4 with 3.92's. If I get into the throttle hard both wheels hook up. But on the jack stands when one wheel spins foreward, the other one spins backwards. What is the code on the build sheet for the anti spin diff ? I'm not sure of the changes thay have made in these modern trucks. My last truck was a 97 Ram with open rear end.

Well, up in snow belt, you are safer with front and rear open diffs, than a good limited slip in rear which can quickly kick the rear sideways on you, and I'm NOT referring to off pavement driving where you need as many wheels driving as possible, that's all.
Well, now that makes a bit of sense. However, I disagree that an LSD is an issue even up north. Firstly, if you need 4wd in order to drive in the snow, then what you really need is driving lessons. Next, if you can't keep your rear from kicking out with an LSD and slippery pavement, see number one. Finally, with open diffs front and rear why even bother paying the costs of 4wd? While I may now live in West Texas, I grew up and learned to drive in the north where snow was plentiful, driving used muscle cars with zero traction control other than your brain and foot. No chains, no snow tires. Just a shovel, some sand and a couple of expanded metal pieces in the trunk to extricate myself if I got stuck. All it took was once and never again.
Heck even today when I go mudding I only use 2wd, so I can shift into 4wd if I get stuck, hasn't happened yet but it's there is I need it.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

I have been driving for close to 40 years and lived in the north all of my life so I think I know how to drive in snow. I own 3 4WD trucks and depending on HOW much snow there is I use it. In my new Hemi Ram and my older Ram the front is much heavier than the rear so it is quite difficult to move around without using it. NOW if I put a pallet of salt in the back which weighs 2450 LBS then yes I can drive in 2 wheel, because we have now shifted the weight to the rear.
I would love to see you drive in 6 inches of snow on the road with no weight in the back. Lessons please.

I have the widow sticker from when i bought it new. I've changed the fluid and checked the unit as well. No problems with it yet. This truck was loaded up with almost every option available for an SLT 2wd. I'm glad that it had the Anti Spin though.

Guess you totally missed the part about me growing up in the north.
But hey it wouldn't fit your preconceived notions would it? Just last month we had an ice storm roll in, started out a hard rain and then it froze. 2 inches of ICE, not panty waist snow, on the roads. You know what I did?
I stayed home.
Again you crack me up. You are funny dude. Ice and snow is a norm here. I never missed a day of work due to ice and snow. A pure panty waist stays home. My preconceived notions are right on.
