Yes,measure the chamber depth (to the deck) in the center of the chamber. The spec is available in all the old Mopar books and tune up tips.May be in the tech archives here.

unless you have a 64 car,, go buy some stage v heads,, sell those to a restoration guy....
i said before,, guys cut the intake flanges more than what they should have for how much the deck of the head was cut,, if you had a crossram and you cut .100-.150 off your block the only option you really had then was to cut the intake face of the head

Yeah, I would say get rid of them and get good ones. All sort of issues hard to come by: intake bolts do not fit, valveseats sticking out are cut, then valves are sunk, then rocker geometry is wrong, then interference with valvecovers, if you put on extra valvecovergaskets the sparkplug tubes are too short etc, it is really an endless nightmare and the absolute opposite of blueprinting. Gosh a Hemi can be screwed up by all jobs done to it in its earlier life, the shortblock can be equally bad (by multiple line-honings) I am assembling a Hemi now with new block and heads, and it is like a sweet dream. It is a good mock-up instead of a bad fcck-up. I would say, that is a good investment, and will really cut down on working hours, not to mention the degree of quality you gain. My

Is this measurement for a 559 head? Where are the reference locations on the head?

I have a drawing on the 3614433 aluminum head and it shows a dimension of 3.68" from the deck to the rocker stand pad. Nominal chamber depth is 1.34". Attached is a quick drawing I did on the basic chamber shape. I was trying to see how much cc's would be added if I machined the R.25" to the full radius. It was less than 1cc added.
