anyone using the kit that has the two pressure switches to turn on lock up and overdrive? what pressure are you using? I have a 430 gear and using 40 and 45 psi. seems to stay locked up when coming to a stop, should i up the pressure?
thanks

My a500 conversion stays locked up until it downshifts, it does not come out of lockup coasting or hitting the brakes like OEM.

The pressure switches are a much easier method than I used but they really aren't the whole solution... I used a speed sensor, A throttle closed switch, a brake input & an adjustable vacuum (Hobbs) switch... Along with some simple home brewed electronics... Now they sell a transmission controller but when I did the conversion if a controller existed I wasn't aware of it.

The pressure switches only take the place of the speed sensor....

I agree, my 2 adjustable psi switches for upshift and hobbs switch for kickdown don't give it complete OEM functionality, but for me going the additional steps you took were more work/money then I saw benefit in for a non-daily driver.

I was building it for someone else & since the guy that was supposed to drive it isn't a car guy I wanted it to be able to think for him... Turns out the car was finished in 04 & probably hasn't travelled 1000 miles since 05...

dunno, I'm using a GM NO vacuum switch hooked to manifold vacuum on the ground leg, and IIRC a 38 & 45 PSI switch on the LU and OD. mine locks up ~ 25mph and unlocks at the same, and OD kicks on at ~37mph and unlocks at the same (using 3.55 gears with 27" tires). I installed a trans go TF-OD kit, don't know if that messed around with governor pressures at all.

best bet, try find some higher PSI switches, at least for OD, something like 60-65psi?

Please keep us posted on what you come up with, I'm going to be going this route with a 4.56 gear and 28" tall tire and was wondering about the pressure switches.

How is that in your application?

I didn't like how my 1998 1500 drove with lockup and OD coming in under 40mph ? The 78 Lebaron with a 318 was even worse ....

those upshift/lockup points are happier with my mag headed/hyd. roller cammed 318 than my comp XE262 equipped 360

what controller is out there? I am also using the adjust vacuum, but this system seems a little sloppy to me. I also intalled the shift kit and think it may have upped the pressures.
anyone have what about those homeade setups?? i like the brake disconnect idea, that would solve the stopping issue
