My a500 conversion stays locked up until it downshifts, it does not come out of lockup coasting or hitting the brakes like OEM.

I agree, my 2 adjustable psi switches for upshift and hobbs switch for kickdown don't give it complete OEM functionality, but for me going the additional steps you took were more work/money then I saw benefit in for a non-daily driver.

dunno, I'm using a GM NO vacuum switch hooked to manifold vacuum on the ground leg, and IIRC a 38 & 45 PSI switch on the LU and OD. mine locks up ~ 25mph and unlocks at the same, and OD kicks on at ~37mph and unlocks at the same (using 3.55 gears with 27" tires). I installed a trans go TF-OD kit, don't know if that messed around with governor pressures at all.
best bet, try find some higher PSI switches, at least for OD, something like 60-65psi?

Please keep us posted on what you come up with, I'm going to be going this route with a 4.56 gear and 28" tall tire and was wondering about the pressure switches.

How is that in your application?
I didn't like how my 1998 1500 drove with lockup and OD coming in under 40mph ? The 78 Lebaron with a 318 was even worse ....
