Aluminum would be fine.....I'd put a new set of aluminum trim on it at least 15 years ago, and have since crashed the RF fender......it's fixed now, just need that piece of trim.......  I've found some for a '74-'75 Dart and it looks exactly the same just by looking at the pics.....
