I've been looking for pistons that have a .927" Shivy pin size. So far I've only found Diamond and JE having stocking pistons for the SB Mopar with this pin size. I'm building a budget engine, so I'd like to find something under $500/set. Someone posted something about only using Shivy rods in a Mopar build. So far, that looks like a high dollar route to me and have yet to see any cost savings on that. I guess if you are ordering custom pistons, then you save a little on the rods and bearings.

The pistons BPE sells can be ordered in about any configuration you want.I don't know the cost offhand, but I know they are pretty reasonable.

I couldn't find much on BPE. I found a couple of posts on various websites about their crank deal, but nothing on pistons or a website? Any contact info on BPE?

Rod does not have his website up yet,I should have told you that. You can call him at 574-340-5470 or his email is in his profile on here.
I think (don't quote me on this)his pistons are custom orders but at a price comparable to a shelf stocking piston from most dealers.
His reasoning was that with his crankshafts, people need various bore sizes and compression heights, along with dish/dome/etc.So he only stocks a few common ones for his kits.
I really don't think you can find a better deal on anything comparable to what he sells,or a better guy to deal with.

Spoke with Rod a couple times not too long ago when i was planning my stroker build...even though things have changed for now, im going to be sourcing my pistons and crank from him, and if he starts doing rods, possibly those as well. His pistons seemed like a quality peice, and when i talked to him the price he gave me, where they are made and what they include only made me confident in them...Id call him and see what you guys can work out

I ordered some Diamonds off their overstock sale for this budget build. I'll contact Rod for another project (R3 block, MCH ported W2 heads) that needs pistons and rods, also probably with the shivy pins since my K1 crank has the LJ shivy rod journals. Thanks for the contact info on Rod. He sent me a PM, so maybe he will give me some pricing on the R3 setup.
