My seals on my oil pump are leaking on my 1970 383 so I am trying to remove the pump to replace the seals and gasket. The engine is in the car. I removed the bolts per my service manual. I can rotate the pump but I cannot get it to come off. Is there some trick to remove it?

Thanks,

Michael

You might need to pull the distributor and the intermediate shaft.

It'll come out with some creative, but light prying.

insert a thin flat blade screw driver between block and pump, you may have to tap it in to get it started ,shouldn't take a whole lot of pressure to un seat the oring thats probably holding it.

Thanks guys. I wedged a small tapered platic wedge under the pump, rotated the pump onto it a little, and it popped right off. Thanks for
all your help.
