So what's better: East side or west side? The opportunity offered to me is by Melbourne Beach south of Cape Canaveral.
Please define "better" Melbourne is a beautiful place. Speaking in General terms here. East coast has two times the people and 3 times the traffic. Many more tourists. Still a great place to be. I often tell my wife if we were rich and had no kids we'd move back to the east coast! Most of the West coast is 5-10 years behind but we like that. I do prefer beaches along the Atlantic but that is just me. Gulf of Mexico is beautiful as well, but shallow in comparison.

Most of the racing is 1/8 mile, and at night, Friday, Saturday night. Up north much of it is 1/4 mile, on Sunday morning/afternoon. Lots of things you take for granted living up north just ain't the same in Florida. Finding good Chinese or Italian food, for instance. Get used to lots of bugs of all sorts; big roaches, love bug season in the spring and fall, fire ants. From mid May to Mid October 90 degree days with 90 percent humidity. What you might not pay in property taxes you may pay in homeowners insurance - most big name insurers left the state, leaving the state-run insurance company insuring many, if not most homes. No basements - everything built on a slab. Cutting grass twice a week in the Summer. Rains every day in the Summer between 3 and 5 pm, or thereabouts... No state income tax, but wages tend to be lower, in general. Snowbirds take over the roads from Thanksgiving to Easter. Some people love it, others hate it after a few months and can't wait to get back. The weather is beautiful about 6 months of the year (Fall and Spring), then either really hot, or cold - yes it does get cold in Florida, frost and freezes as far south as Sarasota, sometimes further. Might want to try it on a temporary basis but leave a way to go back if it isn't for you.

wait the winters out and race up north where its cool in the summer. to hot in the south, lived here all my life, hot and humid. Cuba/florida their the same. If you have met a Cuban thats about the same as a floridian. Plus the misquitos are discusting and the swamp air stinks like gator s--i-. Florida can't compair to Michigan. Be smart stay in the North
Stay where you are. Please!

35 years in the snow belt, going on 11 years in Fl. 4 on east coast 7 on west. I have learned to never say never but it would be VERY hard to live up north again. Some people love it here, some people hate it. Yes you can race year round but I chose not to. It's pretty hot in the summer so I park the racecar and go fishing! There is a lot of diversity in the State of Florida best to come spend some time here to see what you like.
probably the most honest answer i've heard to mega
