have 66 hemi block with this mark, has a wierd cross and A sideways does this mean anything? thanks

The Maltese cross means .001" undersized crank, the A means .020" oversized cylinders.

I have no clue what the 'cross' means as it looks like it's stamped on the pan rail. The 'A' is probably the finished bore size at assembly.

the A is stamped next to cross,its a stock standard block

I don't doubt that it's standard. But if you look in a FSM for '66, there is a cylinder bore size chart in Group 9 as follows: 'A' 4.24975" 'B' 4.25025" 'C' 4.25075" 'D' 4.25125" 'E' 4.25175 That's what I mean by if it's on the pan rail it's probably the finished bore size.
