Well, yes, that is what I am asking from the top installers description. My friend owns a '68 Coronet R/T convertible witha glass back window and he never unzips the backglass when he drops the top and we always cruise together. Maybe as dilvoy stated, have to watch the rear seat?

I have a '70 RR 'vert. NEVER took the glass out, just lower the top & cruised. I wanted a p;lactic rear window, but the installer told me to use the glass. Never had a problem since.

The dimension you want is called the rear bow height - very important to get this right. Most top installers should have this info...but here are some links too. web page web page web page

bow height will very depending whos top you use not all the same.
Hmmm - that is strange - sounds like not everyone is making a top to factory specs to me? I'm assuming the factory had a design spec number, which would have positioned the rear bow in an optimum place for all the other required adjustments? If you manufacture a top with a different rear bow height I would have thought it would risk making the rest of the top liable to run out of (or be difficult to) adjustment?
But it's true I have noticed different places showing some different numbers though.
Well just make sure you have the number from your manufacturer, or get one who makes them to factory spec. KEE are reputable, I would have thought they got theirs the same as factory.... (my new one is a KEE) KEE 66 Plymouth

Hey everybody! Sorry for the late reply and update. Finally got to see exactly why the '67 top will not work in a '66. The glass as it goes down hits the trunk hinge supports BIG TIME The second part is the rear seat upper support is too wide and the glass hits it BIG TIME as well... Now I am in a BIG dilemma since the car has no roof. I had to have the top installer order the correct one so this can be fixed ASAP. Thanks again for all the inputs everyone! Much appreciated!

As a 'convertible nut' I appreciate the update on your first hand experience. Although I sold my '66 Satellite you may have saved me some grief in the future. Dallas
