Any options out there for drum brakes?
So the bartender says to the horse " Gee, Why the long face?"

I'd definitely avoid the Fatman from a safety perspective. Get a one piece unit now that they're available.
That is a "One piece cast unit" Yes it probably is ductile iron, but can never compare to the factory forged units. I agree that the weight savings would be well worth it. But as far as strength, I doubt their is anything worth comparing. For those of you who already have either of these spindles....Run'Em....A properly executed weld joint is as strong as the parent metal.

And the "reason" is probably a lot closer to it being a law passed by uninformed government bueacrats than any actual research.
Yep. and also the engineers who have to certify the cars don't want to be sued by insurance companies if there's a failure. despite what your may believe Australia is worse in terms of litigation than Cali I reckon.
Ya'll use the term "I reckon" down there or are you just funnin'?

Should see the amount of records kept for vehicles done through the RAWS setup... for the 2010 Camaros we did, there is a a huge binder full of info with pictures and specs on every single change done to the car
I know another guy who is an engineer too (around Melbourne), and he has specs and info on tons of stuff that they check and record for modified older cars (like all the stuff you have been doing.)
