I can not find these two spring part numbers (2539794 & 2539964) in my parts books. Can anyone help me identify the usage? Thanks! Joe

Dang, That's cool. Never seen the stamps before.
I have notes from several parts books (various years) and the DC Speed Secrets books but focused mainly on A-body springs. However, it looks like in '65 they were using springs starting with 2495, in '68, 2808xxx, and then in 1969, 3004xxx except for certain heavy duty and the 383 equiped cars which continue to use the older 2808 spring series.
The only reference to a 2539 leaf in my notes comes from the Chassis Secrets book p156 and in the Rally Prep section p. 58. Its says 2539 324 is for 'race' Barracudas and Darts. What that means, and whether there's a typo (those books were badly edited) is a good question. I would think the SS springs would have a right and left number. IF its not a P-part number, my guess is its from '66 - '68. If you measure the front and rear segments, overall lengths you should be able to figure out which chassis they were for.

These same springs are original to my car ('68 Charger RT 4 speed). Most other charger RTs that I have seen always have the 795, 965 springs. I don't know what the real story is for these springs.

Hello, I know this is an old post. Those spring numbers you mention match my factory super bird springs. It is a factory 440 4 speed car. No ifs, ands, or buts.

963/793, 964/794, and 965/795 are factory springs for B body with 426 and 440 engines, 1968-1971 and some later B body Chargers. These springs had 6 full steel spring leaves on the left side and 5 leaves plus 2 half leaves forward of the axle on the right side. As with all cars, the factory parts numbers embossed on the bottom leaves are not listed in parts books, because parts desk part numbers were not the same as factory production numbers, but the last three digits mentioned will appear on the build sheets. See description here.
