I just got back from a drive in my 70 Charger RT and I have noticed that when driving down the highway the car starts to wander way too much and there is "dead area" between left and right turns of the steering wheel.

I also notice a popping noise coming from the suspension when I go over small bumps on the sandy road that leads to the highway.

Here are the specs of my system...maybe I installed something incorrectly. I personally installed everything below.

Firm Feel Stage 3 box a little over a year old.
New Pitman Arm as directed by Firm Feel
Firm Feel 1.06 torsion bars
Power Steering pump is new
Polyurethane bushings and ball joints were new
Front tire Kumho 245/45/18
New Billet Specialties Steering wheel

Everything was aligned at alignment shop afterwards.
Any help is appreciated in trying to diagnose what is wrong.

over a year ago? did this suddenly occur, or has it been building up to this? steering wheel return to center through a turn, by itself? no "plowing" or wallowing in turns? does braking affect it? if you go out in the driveway, and push up and down on the front bumper, trying ti hit the limits of suspension, do you hear the sound? been underneath and pulled/pushed all pieces, looking for slop, wear or noises?

Loose steering box bolts?

On my truck, I dropped the drag link off the pitman arm, and found I could rattle the end of the pitman arm almost 1/16"

I ended up pulling the box and adjusting it on the bench so I didn't have any slop in the pitman arm, and still had the proper amount of resistance from lock to lock.

If you tighten the allen adjuster too much it becomes very apparent when you lose half the lock-lock turns and it's very stiff to turn. On the bench I could make sure I had it adjusted just right. I don't know if there's more room to work on a car rather than a truck, or not.

Now I don't have the 3-4" of steering wheel slop while traveling straight that I used to have. It's still not perfect, but I still need to get my alignment checked.

If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

First thing to check is the steering box mounting bolts. Its a little tight with everything installed but you should be able to get a socket on all of them with some creativity. Then check idler mounting and all other suspension mount points.

If you jack it up and set the tires down on some taller truck size ramps, you can have a helper turn the wheel slightly left and right while you check for play or movement underneath in all the suspension and steering parts. Also check for torn or cracked mounting points where the box mounts to the K frame.

I wouldn't expect a newer FF box to need pre-load adjustments. If you do decide the slop is coming from the box itself, I'd call firm feel and send it in for them to look at.
