can someone tell me exactly how to remove the shaft from the gearbox on my 70 charger. i have it all disconnected elsewhere but cant seem to remove it from the gearbox , not so sure ..thanks

There is a split hollow dowel that goes through the shaft & steering coupler that you have to drive out. Look for a bout a 3/16 dia hole near the end of the shaft. The pin is inside this hole. Use a punch and a hammer to drive it out. PS - it will only come out in one direction if I remember right. So do not beat it too death!!!

do just as Joe mentioned above,...here's a pic of where to place the punch,....remember the pin has a taper to it,..only goes in one way, look for the smallest diameter of the pin end to punch on with a drift to remove it,...they can be stubborn
