I race IHRA Pro class with a trans brake. A local track that has been NHRA and a footbrake track for ever has new rules to allow trans brake in the Mod class. Only foot brake class is the street class. What I can understand is the track is surrounded by IHRA (3)tracks.They would like to get a few racers from the IHRA tracks to go to their track.Witch will happen because they race on Friday night.I have only raced there once and was threw in the electronics class where I had no chance to go rounds.Heck in the Mod class the foot brake guys are that good to win in most Pro IHRA class. The reason that I did not race there was the Trans Brake rule. As you can understand I think the track did a good thing and will race there a few times this year. What would you guys say if your track did this without any discussion with the racers.Do you think this will help the track get more cars or will it loose cars because of the rule.
If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

Can't really help you, all the tracks around here allow brakes in any class but street/sportsman.

IMO just more BS to make you spend more money to race. I just built a truck to run 12.0 index and they changed it to 11.50 I can't afford to make it run that quick so I'll just run street class. No trans brakes in div 1 pro classes. But I'm sure their coming. I can't run index with my Dart because it dosen't have 2 seats, carpet, upholstered door panels, headlights and all the other BS required that you can't even see from the stands. It seems they try hard to limit the car count. Could this be possible or do they just want to keep cheepskates like me away? Rant over

I race in Div 3 and when I built my car the TB was allowed so I went that way... if they were to change that I would be pissed... my car wont launch without the TB because I cant get the revs up enough to plant the tires... but yet I go elsewhere and its not allowed I wish it was straight across the board (which I guess they did)

What class are you running that you have to have that you have to run interior, lights etc. Heck most of the tracks that I've been to if they had those rules nobody would be there. I do believe that trans. brakes shouldn't be in the foot brake class. As the name implies , FOOT BRAKE!
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

My local track is also in Div One, he`s probably talking about Street Eliminator (11.50 - 19.99) one of the classes ran each Points Day at most tracks in the Division and the Bracket Finals. It was 12.00 a few years ago but changed to 11.50. its not really an index Class but some tracks do have them. This year trans brakes are NOT allowed in Pro and Street. I slowed my car down to run Street three years ago and am having a blast and doing well!

i really have no prob with a t b in the pro class so long as there is no electronics with it meaning , no delay box, no shift(so called) rpm acativated switch, no stutter down track, no throttle stops if you want them,, run the next class! in youre street class no electronic at all should be allowed, peroid!! and no t b!! of course this has nothin to do with specialty races, those rules are left to the promoter!!

I was talking about the 12.0 now 11.50 index race where you run heads up on a pro tree and first to the line without running under the index wins. And yes you have to have all that street car stuff.

They had a few index races at my track last year, I didn`t enter because I`m not use to a protree.

So now all those guys are gonna be mad (understandably) that they no longer have a real strong foot brake class to run in AND because they have to spend more money to be as competative. I bet they chased off as many people as they atract, they had a nich and should have stuck with it. Glad that was not my home track
Our local track has had a SP(elecs)class, NE(foot brk) and Sportsman(DOT tires) classes. SP was 1/8 mile and NE and Sportsman were 1/4 mile. Well this year it was decided that NE would allow TB and go to 1/8 mile. Sportsman will allow slicks but can't run faster than 11.0. NE averaged 50-60 cars per race. I don't understand why the guy's that run with elecs are always wanting to screw with NE. I mean is it not possible for us old traditional guys to have 1 stinkn class we can run in. Rant off.
