I'm looking at the rear end installation in my '65. The leaf springs look pretty good, the height of the car is good, and although the mount bushings are old, I don't feel any slop in the mounting points. I'm thinking I'll go with the original set up, at least for now. I've replace the 8 3/4 center section, checked and repacked the axle bearings and replaced the axle seals. Am I nuts for not removing/replacing the springs?

If height and ride are OK and they look OK I'd say use them - preferably with new bushings. Not nuts at all.

X2. I'm assuming this is for a little stoplight action & not a dragger or other app where their function is critical.
