bolt the crossmember up & cutout a scallop w your whizzer on the one side to match the frame so you'll have a scallop on both sides then remove it & weld on horizontle pieces to box it & restore its strength. None ever avail OE as no dual ex was offered. Search the A body "parts for sale" section here (or place a "wanted" ad) for a 65-66 A body speedo cable and there's a parts house one avail (cant remem the #) but it is longer than the stock one. EDIT any A body float will fit as will any A body tank (use the single OE transverse strap). All A tanks have the checkerboard pattern on bottom so can use any of em.

there was a company that did the mod (you would send in yours/exchanged or outright). I thought it was www.firmfeel.com but I just checked their site for you & didn't see a reference to it so either I missed it/I am recollecting the wrong co/or they no longer offer the service. Definitely deal w it otherwise (as you know) the pipe will hang real low and look poor/unprofessional. Welcome aboard

TTI makes a modified crossmember. I did my own.

My mistake. TTI will modify your crossmember for $100

I did my own. Took about an hour. It is so easy that "a caveman can do it". Use a 1967 speedo cable to correct your speedo issue with the later trans.

it may be 66-67 rather than 65-66 cable & it is the threads on the speedo head that are diff & need the right threads on that end of the cable EDIT it's the thread pitch that is diff (the dia is the same) so if it wont easily screw on dont force it just know that you have to get the right cable. Post what one you end up using
