Putting my 69 motor back together with a stock look. What is the purpose of the intake manifold tube set that goes from the back of the block to the Rt side exhaust manifold?? Should I buy one or just cap the manifold. The block is already capped. Thanks

I had headers on my Charger when I had my Hemi in it. I did not use the heat tube. I just made some 1/8" thick alum block off plates & made some gasket the shape of the mounting flanges for the intake.

Do the holes on the intake even go anywhere? Or are they just to add heat to the intake on warm-up? so............ if they weren't blocked off, would it have any leaks anywhere on the intake?

Not to worry about the holes (passages) in the intake...they don't go anywhere. Don't need to cap them off at all.
I've ran my '66 like that for 30 years.

I would cap them off, just to keep out dirt, water and anything that may find an open hole inviting.

That was the only reason why I capped mine off.

Thanks guys. I capped the 2 ports on the rear of the intake. I also made a cap for the exhaust manifold.
