so, I've signed up to go to the test and tune autocross day down at maxton next Sunday. figured it would be a good day to get to know my car as it sits, before i start making suspension changes that it may or may not need.

i do, however, know that my 750 edelbrock performer carb is going to need dialed in. reading through all my carter tuning stuff, throttle response and turning are never really mentioned. i know with holleys, if you're pulling some good lateral G's, you need some special floats. what float setting should i be running in the eddy?
how about throttle response? right now, its pretty soggy and boggy. i know that my metering rods and step up springs need some tweaking, and that is in order this week. but what else?

in other words, what general tune up should i do to this thing for autocross/motor sports usage?

thanks
Michael

I've run a Carter AVS in autocross and on a road course.

Only problem I had was a needle seat unscrewing once. But I've had that happen a couple times on the road too.

Just make sure you float is set right and run it.

Seriously get a Holley for auto cross esp for tight bends carters / edel are the worst when it comes to having problems in sharp turns. Just my 10 cents

Edelbrock makes an off road carb that will work in prolonged off camber situations, might want to look into that.

I would run the float hight as high as possible. Run the jetting slightly rich. Look to see if there are any type of baffles or any slosh control devices. If you lean out in hard braking or cornering I'd go with a tricked out Holley.

Make a dual feed out of the carb if there is enough meat on the top drill and tap opposite side it will help the cornoring but not totally eliminate the fuel slosh but it will help balance out the carb

I added the off road spring loaded needle and seats

I got the eddie duel feed line for a thunder searies carb, then drilled/tapped the other side of my performer carb top to mount the duel feed line

get ready for the price of that fuel line though

I have seen no one else running one,I think I was the only smow to buy it at that price too!

and it dont come with a eddie filter like the single fuel line does either

got over 150$ in the duel feed line from carb to pump with -6/braided line/fittings/filter

works good,looks good,cost a heck of a lot though

if i was to do it again,I would just get 2 -an carb fittings use some -an 90*s and make a duel feed line from the braided hose and forget about the eddie hard line set up
