99 ram 5.2 auto. if you driving with cruise on and you get the feeling trans is slipping ever once and in awhile... would the tps cause that?

I doubt it.. My '98 SST acts up every now and then. It seems like it's shifting back and forth while at highway speeds. It's barely noticeable but I still switched a few sensors including the TPS. No luck.

It does it when the cruise is off or on.
It does it when the overdrive is off or on.

It's been happening over 3 years so I give up.....

darn! mine seem to only do it when the cruise is on.. I had the trans rebuilt 2 1/2 years ago it been doing it ever since, recently I had to have the solenoid replace in the trans ...I think the next truck I buy going to have a manual transmission in it!

I have an 01 ram, 5.2. It was doing the same thing. Changed the brake light switch under the dash. I had read that would do it. Put additional grounds on teh trans, thinking that was it. Then I asked here and I was told it was the TBS,(is that the same as the TPS?). Anyway, changed it out, no more problem. It was unlocking the convertor and relocking it when you hit a bump in teh road. All fixed now.

My '00 Dakota R/T would do it. You could watch the tach and see the rpm flare occasionally. I was sure the converter was unlocking. Finally got bad enough it would do it when the cruise was not on. It was the TPS.

Buddy of mine had the same issue with his '01 3.9. It was also the TPS.
