My freshly built 440 has a loud knock to it that seems to be coming from the back half of the engine. I don't have exhaust run yet so its open manifolds (really LOUD). Is it that I can really hear the valves opening and closing or is it a possible problem down the road... Comp 268 HE cam and 0 miles... Thanks

Is the torq converter tight? I would check it out as it can sound like an engine knock.

I've had this symptom with a few different engines. Clean bolts, use Locktite and pray.
