Of course the original side view mirrors metal parts need to be rechromed,so it looks like
breaking the glass is My only option to get them
apart on My '67 GTX. Opinions??

I know Jules states that he soaks them in laquer thinner and they usually...with caress, come off. If you're not trying to save it I'd save the time and effort and break it off.

I have successfully warmed the glass with a propane torch and popped it out. There are 3-4 spots of adhesive.
