Never owned a roots supercharged vehicle and I am considering going up and looking at this one. So I though I would ask the Moparts FI crowd their opinions first. Seems well put together in the pitcures and video but what do you guys think? How reliable/drivable is something like this? I would only be driving it occasionally anway but just curious. Ignore the price he has listed I am looking at about 1/2 that IF big IF I get it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...COR:MOTORS:1123Check out the video in the add too. Thanks,

im not to fond of the huge charger sticking through the hood, but that said i had a buddy with a 454 regular cab duelly chevy 2wd with blower on it similar to that and he drove it daily to work, He owned a speed shop granted it was only a about a 10mile trip to the shop but he drove regiliously every day, it had a cowl hood on it so the blower didnt stick out. no he drives a s10 with a turbo ls1 everyday to work...The 454 truck was a 90's thing before turbos were big i guess...

The efi system on that one is a really awesome piece, but blown wedge motors are funny when they get run over by an N/A motor...I am not much for putting a blower on a set of stocker heads, but to each their own.
Buying mine would be a lot cheaper....Although you ould have to add the blower and mine is green, but considering the +$40k savings, you would have some money left over. Plus mines a lot lighter and has overdrive.
It is pretty mild but doubt it will get run over by alot of N/A motors that actually run on the street. Victor heads, roller cam with EFI and 6lbs of boost make for 600+ HP fairly quicky if setup right...

You missed the part where I said I was not going to pay nearly what he is asking for it - hard to have 40K left when I would be paying much less than that.
Probably not going to happen the lowest he will go so far is about 4K higher than I want to pay right now, he has re-listed it again (4th time) and hoping for better offers - we will see...

That's exactly were I guessed it should be around 550-600hp. Should move pretty decent, I am wanting it more for the 80's pro-street vibe and it would make a good billboard for the company.
I only make it to a track 2-3 times a year anyway; it should scare the heck out of the kids on the street though.
That thing will make 600 easy. Probably pretty close to 500 before any boost.

If he needs to sell it, he's probably should be fortunate to get $30k for it IMHO. It's an oddball package with a super-limited market, especially since we got this recession on...

I'd think 30k would be a very fair deal. I know a local guy w/ a similar set-up he was asking 12k for the truck w/ carbs and 15k w/ the efi. It's a 78-82 half ton short box truck. Black. He'd probably ket it go for 12 w/ EFI by now. Ran good too.

That's the ball park I am playing in he is still a little north of there, we will see - if he needs the money he may come down some more - i just cannot see going up. I need it like another hole in the head!

Mr Yuck - It's not about whether this LRT is a good deal, it's about how many people are in the 'I'll pay $30,000+ for that' club, and whether the seller will get a bigger fish later on. IMO the seller shouldn't let $4000 stand in the way of $30,000. Just my perspective from wheeling-dealing in niche, non-market-hyped cars. The black truck you spoke of is still available, too, eh?

So that blown wedge is faster than my N/A Hemi, or my 416 W2 motor in my other Cuda? Doubt it... Wouldn't catch either of them....The 360 in my truck it had better catch...

I'd have to look into it. He wasn't going to crazy trying to sell it. I almost bought the M/T when I bought this car. 30k to 26k might be enough for some to say no deal. Now I'll agree 45k vs. 49k then you have a point. Cool truck anyway, hope it goes to a good home.
