This is not the original motor in my Cuda and Im trying to figure out what it went to.

The numbers are hard to read and were stamped and restamped. Would someone be able to help narrow this down?

*S23P9E119973

The "*" is blank and Im assuming that there should be a B there but I cant tell. The "P" looks like a P but from what I find in decoders this is not possible and being that its a 340 block it must be an H.

The numbers on the drivers side top front, next to the head are "EW10P26200459"

The numbers on the drivers side of the block are "2780930-340"

P was a 340 code for 1969 so that is correct. H was the code starting in 1970.

Could be from a 69 Cuda (B) or Dart GTS (L) car, first letter of VIN.

E on the front of the block is 1969 model year

So it's a 69 model year block

That's Awsome!!Thanks.

I just checked the block again and there is a very faint line in front of the S so this must have been from a Dart. Thanks again

I know the LA plant (E in the VIN) built Darts but I don't think they built Barracudas. Therefore, a good guess would be LS23P9E119973

A 69 Barracuda wouldn't have an "S" in the price class anyway. They were all "BH" for 67-69.

Good point so I guess the mystery is solved...it came out of a Dart.
